Doctor Sacked in UK for Recommending TB Joshua's Prayer to Sick Woman

The rate at which people are denying God and things of the spirit these days is quite worrisome. Have you even observed that the words "God" and "Jesus" are now muted in movies on DSTV? It's that bad!

As you read this, a NHS psychiatrist in the United Kingdom, Dr Julius Awakame, has been sacked after he advised a patient to get help from TB Joshua's 24-hour church TV channel, Emmanuel TV because she might be possessed by demonic 'forces'.

According to UK Daily Mail, Dr Julius recorded medical notes diagnosing the woman as having a history of 'satanic ritual abuse' and said her issues could not be addressed by regular treatment.

So the doctor told her to watch Emmanuel TV, adding: 'neither psychiatry not psychology would be able to help because there are special forces at play.'

The woman - known as Patient A - claimed Dr. Awakame also told her to get 'holy water' before 'switching off' during the consultation at a health centre in Harwich, Essex.

When community psychiatric nurse Martin Rowe later quizzed Awkame whether she she was possessed, the medic replied: 'She may well be' and claimed she had been thrown out of her local church due to her condition.

His employment with the North Essex Partnership Foundation Trust was terminated the following month.

Today Dr. Awkame - who has since returned to his native Ghana - faced being struck off after he was found guilty in his absence at a medical tribunal of a number of misconduct charges.

The consultation took place on January 23 2014 when Awakame was treating the vulnerable woman as an outpatient.

The hearing, in Manchester, was told he was made aware she had a 'Dissociative Identity' - a personality disorder - and a 'history of previous satanic ritual abuse' before making a record of it in his notes.

But Awakame, formerly of Ipswich, then told Patient A she had been 'initiated through satanic ritual' and wrote down a website address for her to access.

He told her the TV station was 'specifically targeted for people who experienced similar situations.'
And he said her problems 'could only be addressed by the church' before he wrote down the name and suggested she write a book about her experiences.

He also told Patient A he had watched the TV station and said there were 'many people who had similar problems' to her.

The patient further claimed Awakame told her to ask the church to send her some 'nice holy water' to help with her problems. She later spoke to Mr Rowe about the encounter and the nurse quizzed Awakame.
When the nurse told Awakame that Patient A thought she might be 'possessed' he replied: 'She may well be.'

The doctor also said he 'studied' the TV station 'for hours' and said the woman's church had recognised she was possessed and had thrown her out.
Speaking of her emotional state following the meeting, Patient A said: 'I had pretty much switched off after hearing Dr Awakame tell me that no psychiatrist or psychologist could help me as throughout my childhood my parents had told me that no one would believe me and no one would help me'.

Awakame was reported to a consultant psychiatrist at the Trust by Mr Rowe the day after the consultation.

Following an investigation he was subsequently sacked and referred to the General Medical Council.

Awakame, who worked in various hospitals in the NHS from 1997 to 2014, will be disciplined next month by the Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service.

He is currently working as a lecturer in 'health informatics' in his home country where he graduated in medicine in 1993.

Metuh in More Trouble, Ordered to get N600m Bond for Tearing His Statement

For the wife of Olisa Metuh to be running to churches for prayers, she knows her husband is in trouble.

His problems were compounded further on Friday as a Federal Capital Territory High Court in Maitama, Abuja, granted the PDP National Publicity Secretary bail in the sum of N300m with two sureties in like sum. The total bail sum is N600m‎.

So far, Olisa Metuh needs to come up with about N1Billion before he could go home...

Metuh is on remand in Kuje Prison by an order of a Federal High Court in Abuja with respect to charges of money laundering involving N400m, part of money meant for procurement of arms, which he collected from the Office of the National Security Adviser.

Justice Ishaq Bello, before whom ‎Metuh was arraigned on two counts of destruction of evidence while in the custody of the EFCC for investigation into the money laundering case, ordered that the residences of the two sureties to be presented by the accused should be verified by filing of documents in that respect before the court.

Metuh, who was brought to court by prison officials on Friday was still battling to fulfill the first N400m bail granted him by Justice Okon Abang but now another N600m has been slammed on him.

Ex-Beauty Queen Who's Sleeping With Her Friend's Husband Dumps Him after EFCC Arrest

Money, money, money...that is the only song many ladies today want to hear. All their "I love your baby" are very much influence by the fact that you are bringing out money whenever they want it. Once they start seeing signs that you have financial problems, my brother sorry is your name oh!
Just few weeks back Olufamous posted a story HERE about a former beauty queen, Florence Esu, who is alleged to be sleeping with her best friend's husband, Dr. Bright Echefu and things got serious to the extent that the guy engage her just months after his wife's "controversial" death with pregnancy.
Sadly, the man has been arrested by EFCC and the babe has dumped him. See the details...

Operatives of EFCC on Thursday arraigned Dr. Bright Echefu before Justice S.C Amadi of the State High Court, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, on a one-count charge of Issuance of Dud Cheque and Obtaining by false pretense.

He was said to have received computer accessories, laptops, stationeries delivered to his business premises at Touchville Hotel, Ada George Road, Port Harcourt by the victim. After the supply, he issued a post dated cheque of N1.165m with a further agreement to pay the balance of N150k on a later date.

But the cheque was returned unpaid due to insufficient funds in his account. All efforts made to recover the money by the victim, were futile.

Justice Amadi remanded Dr. Echefu in prison custody and adjourned the matter to 25th January, 2016 for the hearing of bail application.

But that is not all he is battling with at the moment. The lady he proposed to, after they express undying love for each other, has dumped him. She's not ready to go give him food in prison. Lol!

Dr. Echefu trended online last December after he got engaged to Florence, a friend of his late wife, Cindy Nzeribe, just months after she died while pregnant with their 3rd child. Many people berated the lady for being in a hurry to take over her friend's husband.

Anyway, after his arraignment by EFCC, Florence announced online that she's no longer his woman:

She even claimed their engagement was a prank. But see a pic she copied the man when things were ok...

...may God save men from fair-weather ladies!

N780billion: MTN seeks out of court settlement with FG

Telecommunications company, MTN, is seeking an out of court settlement over the N1.04 trillion fine the Federal government through the National Communications Commission, slammed on it last year for failing to deactivate 5.1 billion unregistered phone lines. MTN had initially dragged FG to court over the fine, arguing that it was outrageous. The Federal government had reduced the fine to N780 billion after the company complained.

At a resumed hearing of the suit at the Fedral High Court Ikoyi today January 22nd, the lead counsel for MTN, Wole Olanipekun, told the presiding judge, Justice Mohammed Idris, that they have considered to settle out of court with the Federal government.

Following the request by MTN, the presiding judge adjourned the case to March 18, 2016 hoping that both parties would have reached an agreement before then.

R.Kelly reveals how he was sexually abused as a child by a female relative

Singer R.Kelly who in 2008 was found not guilty on 14 charges in a child pornography court case has revealed that he was sexually abused by a female relative at a young age. R.Kelly said that the abuse began when he was just 8 and continued up until his teenage years and the experience made him to start feeling horny and sexually active from a young age...

R.Kelly said it all started one day when he fell asleep in front of the TV and was awoken from “a crazy dream about Three's Company” to find a woman playing with him. Speaking to Chris Heath in an interview with GQ Magazine, he said:
''I tried to push her away, but she wouldn't stop until she was finished. When she was, she said, “You better not say shit to no one or else you gonna get a terrible whupping.”
He also revealed in the interview that a family friend also offered him money to masturbate him while he was younger and says the experience had a negative impact on his childhood.
“At first, I couldn't judge it,” “I remember it feeling weird. I remember feeling ashamed. I remember closing my eyes or keeping my hands over my eyes. I remember those things, but couldn't judge it one way or the other fully.”‘I, well, definitely forgive them. As I’m older, I look at it and I know that it had to be not just about me and them, but them and somebody older than them when they were younger. I looked at it as if there was a sort of like, I don’t know, a generational curse, so to speak, going down through the family.’
Asked why the generational curse didn’t pass down to him, Kelly replied that he ‘opted to break it’ but added that misunderstandings occurred as his song lyrics were ‘taken far too literally’.
"As I’m older, I’ve only learned to forgive it. Was it wrong? Absolutely. But it’s a family member that I love so I would definitely say no to that one. To be honest, even if my mom, I saw her kill somebody, I’m not gonna say, “Well, yeah, she definitely should go to jail.” It’s just something I wouldn’t do.’

OAP Lolo1 comes for comedienne Princess, says she's embarrasing Nigerian comediennes

This morning, comedienne/Radio host, Lolo1 of Wazobia FM called out her colleague, comedienne Princess on instagram, calling her act an embarrassment to female comedians in Nigeria. She's since taken down the post but below is what she wrote;
“Good morning guys! I have some things I've always wanted to get off my mind. I totally respect and have absolute faith in the growth of the "Stand Up" comedy industry in Nigeria. But I think Females in this industry have a whole lot of work to do. We're strong, we are beautiful and we are talented but unfortunately some have allowed "pettiness" "rudeness " and downright classlessness, override whatever form of talent they have.

“I'm usually not one to call people out, (especially my colleagues) but at this point, someone needs to talk to PRINCESS the 'comedian'. Madam, what you do on stage is no longer comedy. You're still acting after the audience have gone. Your attitude, downright rudeness and absolute ridiculousness on stage is an embarrassment to female comedians.”
“As a so called veteran, you of all people should know that when the joke is no longer funny, it's time to exit the stage. if you know her, please tell her. Madam, abeg clear road. It's either you work on your craft and fix whatever psychological and emotional issues you have, or leave the stage. Either way, stop embarrassing us”

Photos: Court adjourns hearing on Dasuki's application to stop bail

Justice Baba Yusuf of the Federal High Court, Abuja today Friday Jan. 22nd adjourned the trial of the former National Security Adviser, Col. Sambo Dasuki till February 4.
The counsel to the EFCC, Rotimi Jacobs, told Justice Yusuf on Friday that an application had earlier been made by Mr. Dasuki through his clients for stay of proceedings in court.

He said his client was of the view that the application should be refused. He noted that the Administration of Criminal Justice Act stipulates that such cases be heard daily, and argued that while the judge could hear a motion from the defendants, as the case progresses, a prayer for stay of proceedings should not be allowed.
Mr. Dasuki’s counsel, Joseph Daudu, countered that the details in the said application should be strongly evaluated, as it contained an abuse of the rules of court. Dauda said he had been unable to reach his client since he was rearrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
He was only able to see his client after a long time, after a court order on Thursday demanded that Mr. Dasuki be produced in court. The counsels to the second, third, fourth defendants also said they had neither been served with the said application, nor with the counter affidavit, from the prosecution.
Justice Yusuf, therefore ruled that the matter could not be heard yet.
"Having heard all parties, I can say with all sense of notice that the matter cannot be heard today," he noted.
He said it was important to allow Mr. Dasuki go through the counter-affidavit and make his responses to the issues raised and directed that counsels to the other defendants be served with the motion on notice, as well as the counter affidavits, before the next date of hearing.
